20 Best Movies Of 2026 (So Far)

18. The Drama

The Drama
A24

In Kristoffer Borgli's pitch-black social satire The Drama, a loving couple (a brilliant Zendaya and embattled Robert Pattinson) find their upcoming nuptials thrown into disarray when the bride-to-be reveals a long-buried secret about her past.

The results are chaotic and horribly funny, as the pair confront their relationship and those closest to them in hopes of finding a path through the carnage they've created.

Anchored by its committed central performances - from two actors who have dominated the movies this year - and bountiful laughs, The Drama soars highest not as a twisted romance, but as a biting critique of social norms and idealised relationships, taking a hot-button topic and using it to great effect to probe audience expectation.

Bold and dark, romantic and unsettling, The Drama will surely remain one of 2026's most discussed and debated movies, but also one of its very best and wonderfully, wildly unique.

I get to write about what I love, which is cool. You'll typically find me in front of a TV, or hunkered down behind a book, or dreaming of things far away. Be good to each other. Find my other writings here: https://allthethingsineversaid.substack.com/
