20 Awesome Moments From TERRIBLE Recent Movies

There was a lot of pre-release optimism that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie would improve upon its pretty-but-empty predecessor with a smarter script and all-around more inspired engagement with the beloved video game franchise.

But this follow-up more-or-less doubled down on the original's foibles, serving up a visually stunning but completely vapid experience that largely just begs the audience to point and clap at things they recognise.

Yet Nintendo and Illumination do get some scattered praise for the frankly fantastic appearance by Star Fox's legendary protagonist Fox McCloud - which the marketing bafflingly spoiled days before the film's release.

Between Glen Powell's surprisingly brilliant vocal performance and the character's awesome 2D animated introduction, Fox's presence manages to match its obvious fan service appeal with some genuine creativity.

As a result, many folks' takeaway from this movie was that Nintendo desperately needs to greenlight a Star Fox film, like, right now.
