12. Karaoke - Balls Up

Balls Up

Balls Up is a resoundingly lame action comedy from the once-great Peter Farrelly (Dumb and Dumber), and one which totally squanders the potential-rich comedic dynamic between Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser.

Even for the slack standards of Amazon Prime Video original films, this is an especially forgettable romp that'll evaporate from your consciousness the moment the end credits roll. Maybe even sooner, honestly.

But it does deliver one admittedly hilarious scene which quickly - and understandably - went viral.

When Wahlberg and Hauser's characters get egged on to perform karaoke at a party, they end up delivering a hilariously high-pitched rendition of Gotye's anthemic banger "Somebody That I Used to Know."

It's such an unexpected swerve of a gag, Wahlberg and Hauser both committing so thoroughly to the bit, and yet that game enthusiasm is so sorely lacking from the rest of this painfully mechanical, materially unfunny "comedy."
