14. The Third Parent
It's honestly surprising we haven't seen more films based on creepypastas over the past decade, but one that's sure to get a lot of people talking is the impending adaptation of The Third Parent.
The story, which was first published on the nosleep subreddit in September 2016 by Elias Witherow, revolves around a family who, in the middle of a Fourth of July celebration, are met by a mysterious figure called Tommy Taffy, who exerts a disturbing rule over said family.
The film will star Rob Lowe, Roselyn Sánchez, and Rafael de Belligny as the Hollow family, but in a true casting masterstroke, the skin-crawlingly creepy Tommy Taffy will be played by the legendary Crispin Glover.
It takes virtually no imagination at all to see how Glover, an eccentric, bold actor if there ever was one, will have an absolute ball with an iconic antagonist who has unnerved so many over the past decade.
The Third Parent releases on January 22, 2027.
