Black Mirror: Bandersnatch Review - 7 Ups & 2 Downs

3. It's Gorgeously Shot

If you were worried that the larger scale and greater volume of video content required for the episode would result in a watered-down visual experience, fear not.

Cinematography has always been a high-point for Black Mirror, and that was certainly the case with director David Slade's monochromatic Black Mirror episode last year, Metalhead.

Having worked through the various story paths, it's clear that Bandersnatch is richly, evocatively shot throughout, and no technical corners have been cut or expense spared in putting together a seamlessly cinematic story with stylistic uniformity across the board.

Given that most CYOA films end up looking a bit cheap and visually flat, this is without question the most stylistically formidable effort the medium has ever seen.
