Bruce Willis is One of The 'Five Against A Bullet'

Will play one of the world's five best bodyguards hired to protect a Mexican politician ahead of an election run.

Bruce Willis has rarely done any actual acting since he stopped hanging around with M.Night Shyamalan, so the news of his latest attachment to an "action film of the week" concept comes as no surprise. This is how Bruce has routinely paid the bills since the late 80s, and how he has almost exclusively paid his way in the past ten years. Variety says Willis, who is currently shooting his fifth Die Hard movie, has signed on star in "Five Against A Bullet" at Columbia Pictures. The rather long winded title refers to the world's five best bodyguards who are hired by a Mexican politician after his father gets brutally murdered by a drug cartel ahead of an election run. Willis will play one of the bodyguards in what sounds like it will be an action ensemble like "Red" as Willis wants to put his feet up even more. The script for the movie comes from Alex Litvak, who wrote the Paul W.S. Anderson's "The Three Musketeers 3D" and Robert Rodriguez's "Predators" so don't expect much from this. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Willis hasn't even given him the courtesy of reading the script and has instead signed on simply because of the plot line and genre affiliation. And the bottom line of course. No director is yet attached but message to all young hungry filmmakers out there, be wary of taking on a Bruce Willis starring vehicle. You may not know what you are letting yourself in for. The infamous Willis 'phone-in' performance will be making an ugly re-appearance in this one when it films sometime this year. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Jordan Schur and David Mimran are developing as producers.
