20 Upcoming Film & TV Shows That Just Got Cancelled

10. Blade

Mahershala Ali Alita
20th Century Fox

The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Blade reboot was first announced at 2019's San Diego Comic-Con, where Mahershala Ali was also revealed to be playing the Daywalker, though almost seven years later it still hasn't come out.

Since the announcement the project has cycled through numerous writers and directors, with reports emerging that the creatives have struggled to crack the script all while Ali has grown understandably frustrated with the wait.

And though rumours have swirled for a while that the project might get cancelled, reliable industry insider Jeff Sneider stated earlier this year that Blade is indeed "dead," and the character will instead be introduced in a Midnight Sons movie.

If a project as seemingly straight-forward as Blade can't come together after so much time, perhaps it's for the best that it doesn't happen.

As such it's looking like we'll be waiting around a full decade to see Ali make his proper MCU debut as the character, which is ridiculous.
