18. Batroc's Subtle Outfit Nod

Captain America has caught some heat for not having Cap in his most iconic costume, and Winter Soldier presented the directors with the somewhat daunting prospect of making Falcon not look ridiculous. They succeeded of course, and they also featured a toned down, but still dutiful version of Batroc The Leap, a villain from Cap's comic run. The Russos are Marvel fans, and though they recognised Batroc's outfit as absurd, they did draw from the comics, incorporating his iconic purple outfit into the more modern version for the film, to pay homage to the comics.
