Captain America: Civil War - 11 Things That Definitely Won't Happen

3. The Punisher Goes Rogue

After years of heart-breaking missteps in The Punisher's deeply depressing film history, Marvel have finally got something right by casting Jon Bernthal, who plays violent, unstable rogues quite beautifully. Unfortunately for fans, he wasn't immediately fast-tracked to a film of his own (that might well happen if the R-Rated Deadpool wins at the box office), but at least he'll be in the so far brilliant environment of Daredevil. That's a strong alternative, but it means it's unlikely that he's going to cameo in Civil War, not least because the tone of Daredevil is so wildly different to the MCU so far. Releasing a morally ambiguous serial-killer like rogue element like that in a universe that has so far avoided blood and death quite conspicuously wouldn't make any sense at all, no matter how great it would be. The Alternative It would be nice to see someone go postal and take matters into their own hands, but nobody really fits the bill. Hulk and Thor could have been wildcards, but neither will be in play, and the only other possibility would be Scarlet Witch, who could conceivably be a law unto herself. Unfortunately though, if she's going to be responsible for the replacement trigger event, it's unlikely they'll play the same card twice. And kicking her out of the Avengers group would be cruel, considering what she's gone through.
