Captain Marvel Reviews: 11 Early Reactions You Must See

5. It's Weird

One of the most enjoyable aspects of both Doctor Strange and Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 was the agenda to be weird with both. The latter had pushed the envelope thanks to James Gunn's original movie's success (and his subsequently increased creative licence on the sequel), while Strange was always going to be odd. It's just the nature of the beast.

In the wake of both of those, all of the talk about the expansion of the cosmic arm of the MCU - initially under Gunn before he was shunted out and crossed the divide to the Distinguished Competition - we've been groomed to expect more weirdness. Black Panther was weird, after all and Infinity War pushed into surrealism a lot more than would have been expected in the wake of Age Of Ultron.

Wonderfully, Captain Marvel is also weird as well as being different to anything else in the MCU and that has to be good news for anyone looking for a bit more creative diversity.
