Casting A Live Action Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood Movie

Playing one character in a film is a difficult enough task as it is, but playing two of them is going to be herculean effort. However, when it comes to the characters of Von Hohenheim and Father, they'll need to find themselves an actor who can do both.

Although Von Hohenheim and Father both look the same, they're both very different personalities. Von Hohenheim, the father of the Elric Brothers, needs to be the silent, yet strong type. However, when he comes out of his shell and really lets his powers loose, his charisma needs also to be there too.

On the other hand, Father, who is the creator and leader of the homunculi, is arrogant and cares very little for the human beings he murders as they're nothing but a means to helping him create a giant philosopher stone.

Sean Bean is one of the most underrated actors currently working and has been a memorable supporting character in some of the greatest films and TV shows ever created. He can be a mixture of a loving and doting father, but also has the capability to be a villain of the highest order, which makes him a great choice to play both characters.

And, of course, both characters die at the end so it fits his criteria!
