4. The Stepford Wives - Mike Wellington

Ira Levin's subtly chilling novel is turned into an explosion of glitz and camp, filled with famous faces in this 2004 adaptation. Walken stars Mike Wellington, an influential man in the sleepy town of Stepford who turns the female residents into domestic Goddesses. Walken clearly has a lot of fun hamming it up here, but surely the actor would have been a more fitting addition to the cast of the much more effective in the broodingly sinister 1975 production that could put his intensity to better use. The Stepford Wives is a fun watch, however, the film's conclusion takes things further than necessary revealing Walken's character to be a robot himself. It's all just a bit chaotic and ridiculous- and some may say beneath Walken's talents.
