4. City Heat
So way back in 1984 somebody thought it might be a good idea to cast Clint Eastwood and Burt Reynolds in a buddy comedy. Yes it did happen, but sadly the result was a dismal DOA of a movie. Set in the early 30's, Eastwood plays a cop who gets involved with his former partner (Reynolds) now a private eye. They both fall for the same "dame" and quickly join forces to avenge the death of Reynolds' partner. This film has a lot of issues, and seems to be just a way for both Eastwood and Reynolds to ham it up in scenes. One scene near the end of the film has both men in a Freudian match of girth, as they try to prove who is packing the biggest firearm. Both men have romantic interests that also seem to go nowhere other than a way to pad the running time and appeal to a female audience. Eastwood and Reynolds are to comedy what Arnold Schwarzenegger is to Shakespeare. So wrong in so many ways.
