Comic Con 2018: 10 Things We Wanted Announced (But Weren't)
4. X-Force
Ryan Reynolds and the crew behind Deadpool 2 have been increasingly vocal about the fact that fans should not hold their breath waiting for an official Deadpool 3.
Instead, the team is looking to focus solely on X-Force as a follow-up to Deadpool 2. That film has been announced for several years now, with fan-favorite Drew Goddard attached to write and direct. Goddard spoke briefly on the subject of the film a few months back, saying that he was just beginning to really get into it and was excited by the "sense of surprise and danger" the franchise presented.
With the film confirmed to feature the return of characters like Reynold's Deadpool, Beetz's Domino, and Brolin's Cable, it remains one of the only sure-things on Fox's Marvel docket. Even with the Disney/Fox merger, chucking this in the trash would be like Disney throwing away ensured money. So instead of spending an entire panel with the cast and creators of Deadpool 2 patting themselves on the back, it would have been so much more fitting to have a panel on X-Force.
It hasn't even started filming yet, but even just an announcement of an official release date or debuting a teaser banner would have been appreciated more than what audiences got.
