Reynolds is obviously great, and the eclectic ensemble and characters and actors is certainly...interesting, and whilst Miller is a bit of a risk for director he is the one who put together the test footage that got Deadpool made. If there's one thing that reassure the potentially cynical or wary that this film is going to rock, however, it's that everyone involved is apparently 100% committed to making it R-rated. And that is a very good thing indeed. Marvel have recently begun to diversify their portfolio a little, with their Daredevil series on Netflix shooting for a much more adult audience than their family-friendly blockbuster movies tend to. Not that all superhero fare should be serious and grown up, but it's nice to see there's something for everyone and Deadpool doesn't work unless it's really cutting with its humour, and crazy violent. The viral marketing for Deadpool began to pick up speed thanks to an April Fools' that involved Reynolds confirming that the film would be rated R...after joking it would be a family friendly PG-13, only for the Merc With A Mouth to kill everyone involved. That's the sort of Deadpool you wanna see. Even if you don't want your kids to see him. And quite right too. Have you seen that guy's face? To think they've got a pretty boy like Reynolds to replicate that as well...
