Deadpool Movie: Ranking The Characters By Anticipation

3. Blind Al

Played By: Leslie Uggams. Who's Leslie Uggams? An award-winning musician and theatre actress who's been at it for over six decades now, with numerous film, television, and stage credits under her belt, one of her most notable being her role as Kizzy Reynolds in the Roots miniseries. Of all the relationships Deadpool has had with the various characters across the Marvel universe over the years, perhaps none is as strange, bizarre, and surprisingly intriguing as his dynamic with Blind Al. As his roommate, victim, friend, enemy, and more, the two's relationship is - to put it mildly - a rollercoaster, with Al staying by his side despite often being tortured mentally and physically by him. Fundamentally, Al sees the good in Wade despite all that he does, both to her and to others, and ideally the film can hone in on that aspect of her character rather than solely relegating her to punching bag status. She frequently gets her revenge on the character, sure, and their dynamic on screen will certainly give rise to a lot of humor, but if Uggams can tap into the humanity underneath it all, it'll go a long way in keeping Wade redeemable in the audience's eyes after he's gone off the deep end.
