Del Toro producing remake of The Changeling?

George C. Scott led 1980's horror The Changeling but I hear it's good. Like really, really, really good. A remake to the flick (well of course, it's a horror from the 80's) has been stuck in development for a while now but Bloody Disgusting report that their is some real movement on the movie now. Directing genius Guillermo del Toro has jumped on board to produce and he could well wind up directing. The plot is below, and just tell me this doesn't sound like cool del Toro fodder...

Dr. John Russell, a music professor living in upstate New York, moves cross-country to Washington State following the tragic deaths of his wife and daughter in a traffic accident while on a winter vacation. In suburban Washington, Russell rents a large, old, and eerie-looking Victorian-era mansion and attempts to piece together his life. However, Dr. Russell soon discovers that he has unexpected company in his new home when the ghost of a long murdered child haunts the house, shattering windows and abruptly opening and shutting door.
Of course del Toro is a busy guy right now so even if he wanted to he might not be able to fit the job into his busy schedule. We know after Hellboy 2 has wrapped he wants to helm his cool sounding ghost movie set in the backdrop of the Spanish civil war titled 3993. He also desperately wants to make his Tarzan movie and he has also been developing the Runoff graphic novel for the big screen. So many projects for Del Toro and so little time. The Changeling is a remake of a classic horror movie so I guess we can all start getting pissed about it but what's worse is that an early draft for the remake was written by Paul Haggis alongside Dave Kajganich. Now Dave your ok mate, I've never seen your stuff yet (he wrote The Invasion and the upcoming Town Creek) but Haggis is a different story. His attachment alone is enough for me to not only avoid the movie but spread the word on my site for everyone to boycott it too.
