Doctor Strange 2: 8 Ways It Could Change The MCU Forever
2. By Having Strange Remember That Peter Parker Is Spider-Man
Currently, the big-screen future of Tom Holland's Spider-Man is still to be determined.
Kevin Feige recently stated that Sony and Disney/Marvel Studios are "actively beginning to develop where the story heads next", but a fourth Holland movie hasn't been outright confirmed, and we don't know where we'll see the character next.
But just because we don't know, that doesn't mean the creatives don't know. And even if they don't have concrete plans right now, you can bet your house that they're hashing them out as we speak. In other words, by the time Doctor Strange 2 releases in May, Spidey's future will absolutely be decided - so what if the movie contains some sort of confirmation of Holland's Spidey's MCU status?
Amidst all this chatter that Holland's Spidey might be transferred to Sony's Venom-verse, it would be a phenomenal moment for fans if Doctor Strange 2 cleared things up. Maybe Spidey gets a post-credits scene teasing his next MCU appearance, or maybe there's a scene where Strange is enveloped in multiverse energy, which triggers his memories of Peter Parker being Spider-Man.
You might be asking: why Doctor Strange 2? Well, Spidey and Strange now have a pretty tight bond, and hey, it's as good a place as any. With all this talk of additional cameos, there's even time for Holland to film something between now and May.
