Doctor Strange: 7 MCU Connections You Might Have Missed

2. Black Mamba

As previously mentioned, one of the potential cases Strange is given by his assistant involves a young woman with a brain implant, who gets struck by lightning. This sounds far too specific to be made up, and believe it or not, there are actually a handful of Marvel comics characters who've been given brain implants in the past.

The most likely candidate here though is Black Mamba. Formerly known as Tanya Sealy, the character was given a brain implant by the Roxxon Corporation which granted her superhuman abilities, including the power of telepathy.

And, weirdly enough, the Roxxon Corporation has been featured in multiple Marvel movies in the past. The company's logo can be seen in the first Iron Man movie during the climactic battle, just before Obadiah Stane whacks Tony with a motorcycle.

The logo can also be seen emblazoned on a green race-car in Iron Man 2, across the side of a tanker in Iron Man 3's ending dock yard fight, and the words 'Roxxon Oil' can be seen in the now-cancelled TV series Agent Carter.

And while Black Mamba herself has yet to make a direct appearance in the MCU, Marvel has a history of name-dropping characters that they'll use prominently in the future. Remember when Stephen Strange was called out in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, or that mention of 'a guy who crawls' in Ant-Man, nearly a year before Spider-Man's debut in Captain America: Civil War?

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
