Doctor Strange: 7 MCU Connections You Might Have Missed

1. The Orb Of Agamotto

There have been a lot of MacGuffins in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date, and Doctor Strange continues that trend with aplomb. The Eye Of Agamotto - also known as the Time Stone - helps our hero defeat the villainous pairing of Dormammu and Kaecilius in the movie's final battle, and it'll almost certainly be a key player in the impending Infinity War.

And this artefact, along with the 'Agamotto' name, directly links Doctor Strange with 2011's Thor. In the latter film, as the camera follows an Asgardian soldier walking through Odin's treasure vault, we're treated to a glimpse of the Orb Of Agamotto, a powerful relic that's most commonly associated with Doctor Strange and his Sanctum Sanctorum.

In the comic-books the Orb grants its user the ability to teleport, and scour the Earth for any imminent or present dangers. It's unclear how it fell into Odin's possession or if it ever resided in the Sanctum Sanctorum in the MCU at all, but it definitely exists - and that's all it takes for the Orb to become incredibly important further down the line.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
