Doctor Strange Film: 6 (Attainable) Directors Marvel Should Consider

3. Neil Burger

Responsible For: Limitless, The Illusionist, The Lucky Ones Why He'd Be Great: He's not too well-known, like Softley, but his features are pretty stand-out, as they were films that really surprised audiences as being a lot more (and better) than what the average season-fare offered. He's also very visually daring, with an excellent eye for special effects. His work in The Illusionist proves that he can handle a realism to magic and illusion, and an obvious passion to bring that to light. Combine that with his action work in Limitless, and you've got the kind of Dr. Strange movie that bridges the gap between the likes of Iron Man and Batman Begins (and also opens the door for some more "darker" Marvel stories. Like Daredevil. Please. God. Daredevil.). You can check out that kind of argument here, but let's not forget Burger's strong resume, okay, Marvel?

Cameron Carpenter is an aspiring screenwriter, current film and journalism student, and self-diagnosed cinephile, which only sounds bad in certain circles. Devoted fan of comics, movies, theater, Jesus Christ, Sidney Lumet, and Peter O'Toole, he sometimes spends too much time on his Scribd and comicbookmovie.com, but doesn't think you're one to judge, devoted reader. You can follow him on Twitter to watch him talk to people you didn't know exist. Oh, and Daredevil is quite the big deal around here (my head).
