Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: 10 Biggest MCU Implications
6. Baron Mordo Is A Force To Be Reckoned With
Baron Mordo has always been Dr Strange's arch-enemy in the comics. As such, it was a surprise that the MCU took a unique approach by allowing Mordo to be Strange's mentor during the latter's early days in Kamar-Taj. This was done in order to amplify the personal stakes, as Mordo became disillusioned with the Ancient One and sought to rid the world of sorcerers.
The classic student vs master story is always a compelling one, and audiences were hyped to witness Dr Strange's most famous conflict on the big screen with the added dimension of betrayal.
Ultimately though, Mordo's role in the movie is limited compared to his role in the first movie.
Whilst we got a Strange vs Mordo fight, it was with an alternate universe Baron Mordo who is the Sorcerer Supreme in his universe and a member of the Illuminati. The chemistry between the pair during the fight was electrifying as Strange is facing off against his introduction to the mystical world (albeit an alternate variant).
The main takeaway is that Mordo serves as a truly compelling foe for Strange to face off against in an upcoming installment and we are absolutely looking forward to it.
