Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: 10 HUGE Missed Opportunities

1. The Illuminati Were Killed Almost Instantly

Thanks to Spider-Man: No Way Home bringing together several previous versions of Peter Parker on the same screen, it really felt that going into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Marvel Studios could do pretty much whatever they wanted.

There may have been far fewer cameos than expected, but at least there was the Illuminati. Professor X, Reed Richards, Captains Marvel and Carter, Mordo, and Black Bolt made up the alternate universe's team, and it was something truly special. However, they were sacrificed with relatively little fanfare.

Every single member of the team, with the exception of Mordo who was kinda forgotten about, was killed with ease by Wanda Maximoff. This is understandable to a degree, as it truly showed how ruthless and powerful a threat the Scarlet Witch had become, but did she really have to kill everyone?

If it is to be the Multiverse Saga that follows on from the Infinity Saga in the MCU, there is no reason that future movies have to stay on Earth-616. Even if Wanda killed one or two of the team, say Black Bolt and Captain Carter, her power would have been obvious for all to see, and there could still have been a movie in the future based around the Illuminati of Earth-838.
