Dream Casting The Losers Club From 'It' As Adults For The Sequel

1. Bonus Bill: Jason Bateman

Bill Denbrough 2
New Line / Netflix

There’s no doubt that – thanks to the critical and commercial success that It: Part I has been, It: Part II will attract some big names. Considering that most actors of the right age grew up on Stephen King stories and would want to embody the characters of It in a future classic, the sequel will definitely have some great talent attached. Whether or not the Loser’s Club will feature a bonified A-lister, a guy who has led a ton of his own movies in the past, is another story though. So that’s why, while Jason Bateman would be an incredible choice for Bill, it’s tough to see it happening.

Ignoring that for a moment let’s consider Bateman’s rebranding as a dramatic actor. After killing it in the horror-thriller The Gift, Bateman went on to the dark Netflix drama Ozark where he’s currently brooding it up with tons of blue camera filters. His mix of sullen stares and sarcastic snark would be perfect for the adult Bill Denbrough, and it’s exciting to think of an actor like Jason Bateman bringing to life such an iconic character.

Bateman would no doubt run away with the role, making it his own and throwing in some unique acting choices to play the stuttering horror-writer that comes back to Derry to face his own horrors. With his skills as a director and his improvisational talent, Bateman as Bill would be a fascinating character to watch evolve over the course of It: Part II.
