Every 2020 Movie That Could Make A Billion Dollars
2. No Time To Die
The Daniel Craig Bond franchise has already dipped its toes into the billion-dollar club with Skyfall, before Spectre pulled the series down to the $880 million mark. This unpredictable pattern makes No Time To Die a hard one to pin down, but if we look at the cold-hard evidence, there are signs that point to this one joining Skyfall as well.
For one thing, it's set to be Craig's final turn as 007. Just this year alone, we've seen a lot of "conclusion movies" smash all kinds of box-office records, like Avengers: Endgame, Toy Story 4, and How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (even Game of Thrones, while divisive, was a ratings juggernaut).
Audiences are flocking to these kinds of movies, and if No Time To Die markets itself like Endgame or The Rise Of Skywalker - "the end of an era" - then it could achieve similarly strong results. They could even tease the possibility of Bond dying, to generate even more interest.
It's also clear that the reason Spectre made less than Skyfall was simply because it wasn't as good. Skyfall was magnificent, one of the best Bond films of all time, and it was rewarded for that, proving that the character has billion-dollar potential.
The filmmakers have had four years to make No Time To Die, plenty of time to produce something special, and a high-quality movie combined with the "finale factor" is a recipe for some truly big bucks.
