Every Ben Affleck Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
36. He's Just Not That Into You (2009)
Back when Hollywood was really into these huge ensemble rom-coms, we had the daftly-titled He's Just Not That Into You, based on the self-help book of the same name.
The film focuses on a dozen-or-so people navigating various romantic challenges, played by an hilariously overqualified cast of actors including Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Connelly, Kevin Connolly, Bradley Cooper, Ginnifer Goodwin, Scarlett Johansson, Kris Kristofferson, and Justin Long.
Affleck's plot pairs him off with Aniston as a man whose aversion to marriage drives a major wedge in his relationship. Spoiler: he proposes at the end.
Ultimately the various subplots are just too soap opera-y and melodramatic to be truly relatable, and its regressive attitude to gender roles feels dated at best, sexist at worst.
