Every Ben Affleck Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

12. State Of Play (2009)

Ben Affleck Gone Girl Batman v Superman Pearl Harbor

It's always reasonable to be wary when Hollywood takes a beloved British TV property and adapts it to the big screen with mega-stars like Affleck and Russell Crowe, but State of Play - based on the 2003 UK mini-series of the same name - is a rare example of how to get it right.

Skillfully helmed by Kevin Macdonald, this slick political thriller may ultimately load a bit too much onto its plate for its own good, and if you know there's a twist coming you'll almost certainly figure it out, but it's a fun, snappy ride for the most part.

Affleck and Crowe lead a rock solid cast in a paranoia-laced thriller that probably deserves to be better known.
