Every Denzel Washington Movie Ranked Worst To Best

47. Carbon Copy (1981)

Denzel Washington Malcolm X
Universal

Denzel Washington's movie debut casts him as the long-lost son of a successful businessman (George Segal), who struggles to juggle his professional life with his and his son's reunion.

Taping its convoluted story together with thin and unconvincing themes of identity and prejudice, Carbon Copy delivers all the laughs and heartfelt twists of a bad joke, and wastes Washington as a promising supporting player who deserved better.

Like many 80s comedy-dramas attempting to say something progressive about the world and its people, Carbon Copy is about as sloppy as they come, kicking off Washington's career at an all-time low.
