10. The Emperor's New Groove

The Emperor's New Groove was the third film released in 2000 by Walt Disney, following on from Fantasia 2000 and their first foray into CGI with Dinosaur. It's a slight but endearing tale in the tradition of their output from the 1990s concerning an arrogant Emperor who is turned into a llama.

The Emperor's New Groove didn't perform as well as expected at the box office, perhaps adding another nail in the coffin for traditional animated features at the studio. But it's a notable entry into their canon, not least for its slapstick approach to the comedy and emphasis on delivering a string of gags, ably delivered by contributing voice actors including David Spade, John Goodman and Patrick Warburton (perhaps best known as Joe Swanson in Family Guy).

The Emperor's New Groove is a low key entry for Disney lacking in grandiose set pieces and extravagant musical numbers, but if you're after something light of touch it's not without its charms.
