Every Halloween Movie Ranked Worst To Best After Halloween Kills
8. Halloween III: Season Of The Witch (1982)
With Michael Myers' presumed death in Halloween II, long before his continued survival was an expected feature of his character, John Carpenter proposed the idea of turning the series into an anthology of movies centred around Halloween night.
The one and only result of this short-lived premise was Halloween III: Season of the Witch, which doesn't doesn't feature Michael Myers or Laurie Strode, but instead shifts focus to a mask manufacturer who uses his work to commit mass murder.
Poorly received upon release (forcing the predictable return of Michael Myers in the next film), Season of the Witch has it supporters, thanks in large part to its striking imagery, Carpenter's rousing score, and its unique vision, but the pros of the film are definitely outnumbered.
Silly, emotionally muted and jarringly misplaced, Season of the Witch deserves credit for trying something new and making it all look and sound good, but that's about it.
