Every Headline MCU Protagonist Ranked From Worst To Best
7. Thor - Thor Trilogy
While Thor has been a beloved character in the comics ever since his debut in the 1960s, his first two forays in film weren’t received very well, with Thor and Thor: The Dark World often considered some of the weaker films the MCU has given us.
However, even though he wasn’t a character people loved at first, Thor: Ragnarok came around and completely changed the public perception of who the Thunder God is. Now he was a protagonist who was taken much less seriously and had more personality. He was fun and funny, with Taika Waititi bringing an entirely new light-hearted air to the character compared to his more serious nature in other films.
Even though he's goofier, we still get to see him in his most vulnerable as Mjolnir is destroyed and his father Odin passes away—giving us an emotional edge to the character previous movies tried and failed to deliver.
Because of who Thor has become, Love and Thunder will likely become a big hit for the franchise as it will give a proper conclusion to the story of the god of thunder.
