EVERY Jurassic Park & World Death RANKED By Stupidity
28. Simon Masrani & The ACU - Jurassic World
Somehow, even after the events of Jurassic Park, Jurassic World opened up and, for a long time, was a rousing success. It wasn't until the creation and subsequent escape of the Indominus Rex that things began to go south.
The half T-Rex, half Raptor went on a rampage, and at one point, headed into the aviary, where it broke through the glass barriers and essentially opened the door for the Pterosaurs to fly out to freedom.
There at the time were Simon Masrani, John Hammond's successor, and a couple of members of the Asset Containment Unit. Their helicopter had followed the Indominus Rex to the aviary, but when the Pterosaurs all escaped, they were nothing but sitting ducks. Masrani wasn't a fully licensed pilot, and he just couldn't get the helicopter to pull up in time.
Not only could you call this poor planning, given that the ACU needed to get across the park with no properly trained pilot available to take them, but it was a stupid decision for Masrani to take the controls. It's great to back yourself and have faith that you can do something, but maybe those expectations should have been tempered as he took the lives of two other men in his hands. It may be that even a real pilot couldn't have done anything different, but they certainly would have had a better chance.
