Plenty of people on this list have been killed because of their distinct lack of respect for dinosaurs, but this particular character took things to another level entirely. This wasn't just disrespecting arguably the most dominant species the world has ever seen; this was going out of his way to needlessly antagonise them.

As the title may suggest, Isla Sorna was just that in The Lost World: Jurassic Park - a lost world. An island of dinosaurs left to flourish on its own without human interference, and as such, even the smaller creatures like the Compys showed no fear when faced with InGen's soldiers.

This seemed to puzzle Dieter (Peter Stormare), who was at one time Roland's (Pete Postlethwaite) number two on the mission. After being told that the Compys had no reason to fear man, he shocked one with his taser. Though this may have painted something of a target on his back, it wasn't the dumbest thing he did in the lead to his death.

As the group took a break, he decided to go off for a toilet break by himself, which is idiotic in its own right. He told Carter where he was going, but didn't wait for a response and didn't check to see whether he was heard, which he wasn't, thanks to Carter's headphones. When the Compys attacked him, he had literally no one to blame but himself.
