7. Peter Parker - Defeating Mysterio

Compared to the Sam Raimi and Amazing Spider-Man versions of Peter Parker, the MCU’s Spidey is a lot younger, a lot more naïve, but in a world surrounded by Avengers, has arguably had a lot more thrown at him in his young life. The biggest threat Peter has so far faced on his own has been Mysterio.

While he fought Thanos on Titan, he was part of a strange Avengers/Guardians hybrid team. Fighting against Quentin Beck was his first true test without the safety net that was Tony Stark.

For a while, Mysterio simply embarrassed him all over the world, and before he manipulated him with his drone illusions, he fooled him with his words. Peter Parker thought he had an ally, so much so that he gifted Quentin Beck EDITH, giving him the power to become a true danger to the world.

Maybe it was because it was a hole that Peter had dug so deep for himself, but this battle was easily his most important, and the victory his greatest. This was proof that he didn’t need anyone to look to for help, and didn’t need to find the world’s next great superhero, because it was himself.
