22. Ayesha - Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 2

Like Laufey in Thor, Ayesha isn't really the real villain in Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 2 and she’s only there to serve a couple of purposes while the heroes work out Ego’s true nature. First, she gives the Guardians something to run away from and into his “sanctuary” to set up the rest of the film and then right at the end she sets up the Adam Warlock plot of the next film.

The performance is absolutely fine, but she lacks a bit of substance (for good reason) and her racial superiority thing is a bit of a cliche. But she’s there for a reason and you can’t complain about how well she does what she’s asked to while not getting in the way of Ego’s story too much.

Seeing more of her will hopefully improve her.
