Every Pixar Movie Ranked Worst To Best
10. The Incredibles
Given the popularity of superhero movies, it shouldn't be a surprise that a major animation house would turn their hand to one, but Pixar weren't exactly known for that type of stories when The Incredibles was released. They'd done toys, bugs, fish and monsters, so the idea of PEOPLE - even superpowered ones - was a little out of left-field.
Brilliantly, though, they brought in "outside" Brad Bird and gave him the remit to make a 1960s-infused, Fantastic Four-influences look at superhero accountability years before Marvel Studios even considered it.
Brad's story is brilliant and the family dynamic between the characters pushing the superhero elements of the story to the background was inspired. This is ostensibly a family drama that just happens to have an added complication and it's how the family functions that matters most.
The voice work is all great, the characters are wonderful and it's still unthinkable that it took so long for a follow up, given how good Bird's world-building is.
