Every Pixar Movie Ranked Worst To Best
13. Finding Dory
For more than a decade, Ellen DeGeneres was basically a one-woman campaign to get a Finding Nemo sequel made and her commitment paid off with her elevation to the main character of the follow-up.
12 years after the original, we got more of a look at what had made Dory what she was and the results include some of the most heart-wrenching Pixar moments.
Back in the original, the only hint at Dory's past was her wondering almost casually where her family was having clearly forgotten them (which is the kind of mind-worm horror that really, REALLY grows when you give it time), so there was definitely space to explore that more.
And though it's a film about a forgetful fish, like the best Pixars, Dory explores some deeply fundamental human fears - chiefly of abandonment - in a way that never compromises its accessible entertainment factor.
