Every Pokemon Movie Ranked Worst To Best

14. Destiny Deoxys

Tackling a surprisingly weighty PTSD theme amid its hyper-stylised, CGI-aided bouts of carnage, Destiny Deoxys leans further into the technological advancement of the Pokemon world more than any other entry to date, helping it stand out from the crowd - even if it doesn't quite come together with the satisfying kick that it could.

The main weight comes from Tory, a boy left scarred as a youngster by a stampede caused by the clash of a Deoxys falling to the planet in the midst of a battle with Rayquaza. Four years later, he's caught in the middle when past events come back to haunt him, with Ash and company caught in the pull again. It's solid, yet misses the spark of young wonder present in the original films despite its well-realised semi-utopia-turned-security haven LaRousse City.

Something of a culture vulture, Mr Steel can historically be found in three places; the local cinema, the local stadium or the local chip shop. He is an avowed fan of franchise films, amateur cricket and power-chords.
