Every Saw Movie Ending Ranked Worst To Best

The End: Two survive the film's game, while Hoffman frames Strahm as an apprentice and kills him with a trap.

What a dull and anticlimactic ending this was.

Some of the posters for the film had the tagline "You won't believe how it ends", but the twist for this one was basically that there wasn't a twist at all. That was a good idea, since the never-ending barrage of twist endings was starting to feel repetitive, but the film didn't replace such endings with anything interesting or compelling.

This entire ending scene was very boring; killing off Strahm (one of the best characters in the series) this early was a mistake and there was something a bit too silly about Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) exiting the room like a Bond villain.

Also, the way in which Hoffman framed Strahm (Scott Patterson) made no sense. All he did was make a couple of calls using Strahm's phone and somehow the police department bought it. If the city's police force was that incompetent, no wonder they failed to catch Jigsaw!

The one good thing that can be said with this one is that having two survivors from the film's big game was a nice break from the franchise's tradition of downbeat endings. That raises it above Saw 3D's conclusion.
