The film follows the classic story of Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), an abused teen with telekinetic powers who gets bloody revenge on her high school bullies, giving it a modern setting and allowing Julianne Moore to play Carrie's mother with unhinged terror. It's tragic, violent, and is about as good a Carrie remake as can be.
