Every Steven Soderbergh Movie Ranked Worst To Best
1. Out Of Sight (1998)
The film that saved George Clooney from the embarrassment of Batman & Robin only a year earlier also happens to be Steven Soderbergh's masterpiece.
Out of Sight has it all, with no weak spots. It's charming and relaxed, following a bank robber (Clooney) and his team (Ving Rhames, Steve Zahn, Albert Brooks) as they come face-to-face with a tough gangster (Don Cheadle) and a persistent, conflicted US Marshall (Jennifer Lopez).
Clooney has never been better than he is here, and Soderbergh's direction - whilst not as flamboyant as usual - has never been so perfectly suited to one of his films.
Out of Sight is a moviemaking masterclass, a breezy heist thriller, crime drama and romantic comedy mixed into one perfect organism. Amazing.
