Every Story Of Creepshow Season One Ranked

1. The Finger

Shudder

A depressed, underemployed divorcee finds a severed, inhuman finger and takes it home with him (you know, as you do). Gradually, the finger begins to grow, sprouting other body parts (a hand, an arm, and so on) until it becomes a fully formed creature. The man and his peculiar new house guest, whom he has affectionately named Bob, form a strange companionship. As it turns out, Bob may be a bit too loyal, taking bloody revenge on everyone who has wronged his new master.

Of all twelve stories featured in this revival, The Finger stands out above the rest as the most inventive, twisted, darkly humorous and, most importantly, Creepshow-esque. Producer Greg Nicotero directs this one, redeeming himself after the underwhelming Grey Matter. The breaking of the fourth wall throughout works really well in this segment, and compliments the dark humour of the story perfectly. The practical effects and puppetry of Bob is, of course, praiseworthy. This is the only area that is consistently impressive throughout the series, but it's particularly strong here.

Shudder - take note. Every tale in season two should be as strong as this one; we expect no less!
