4. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2

Status: About to hit cinema screens worldwide.

We stand on the very verge of the release of the second Guardians Of The Galaxy, which has inspired great reviews so far (though not universally, unfortunately). After the first film proved to be the most shocking success of the entire MCU, its follow up was always going to be pretty heavily hyped, particularly with the revelation that Baby Groot was going to be involved rather than his full grown iteration.

Having knocked the first movie out of the park, James Gunn returns with the assurance that he's basically allowed to do what he wants without Marvel tinkering, and his new additions to the cast - Kurt Russell, Pom Klementieff and Elizabeth Debicki, most prominently - are universally excellent.

The film focuses on the growing pains of the group, as well as familial friction in Peter Quill's paternity story and the dynamic between Gamora and Nebula. The exaggeration of Drax's comedy, Groot's cuteness and the expansion of the MCU's beloved ruffian crew is all good news, and the majority of fans should leave delighted.
