Every Upcoming MCU Project Ranked By Anticipation

1. Avengers: Secret Wars

In the same way as Endgame was the second half to Infinity War, and was actually initially titled Infinity War: Part 2, Doomsday will no doubt run directly into Avengers: Secret Wars just one year later. It's not even that difficult to imagine Doom claiming victory in a similar way to Thanos eight years earlier.

In the 2015 Secret Wars comic book arc, the world is made up of the remnants of multiple shattered universes, presided over by Latveria's favourite megalomaniac. It will be an incredibly difficult story to adapt to screen, but Marvel and the Russo brothers have made magic before.

Currently, there are no movies set to release between the fifth and sixth Avengers outings - though season three of Daredevil: Born Again will slot in here - so they are likely to feel two parts of the same story. While Secret Wars doesn't necessarily hinge on the success and reception of Doomsday, a strong response would certainly help in a huge way.

Though there will have been at least 40 films in the franchise by the end of 2027, the MCU has been built around Avengers movies, and this has the potential to be the biggest and most important of them all. The other side of that coin is that it could also be the most disappointing, such is the widespread expectation and anticipation.
