Every Upcoming MCU Project Ranked By Anticipation

14. Blade

Mahershala Ali Blade
Marvel Studios & Fox

For the time being, as there has been no official cancellation of the project as of yet, Blade will still be considered as an upcoming Marvel movie despite the completely unavoidable feeling that its release is becoming less and less likely as time passes on, even taking into account the character's Todd Williams-voiced Marvel Zombies appearance.

It has been a ridiculous seven years and counting since Mahershala Ali took to the Hall H stage at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 as the new Blade. The film was announced alongside much of Phase Four, some of which has already been around for five years and counting.

If there had been any kind of positive news surrounding the Blade reboot, this likely would have landed higher up the list, as seeing Ali step into the role is a mouth-watering prospect. The man is an outstanding, Oscar-winning actor, and if anyone can fill the boots of Wesley Snipes, it is him.

As it is, however, delay after delay, and issue after issue have led to the world being no closer to the Blade that was teased in the Eternals post-credit scene as it was seven years ago. Even Deadpool and Wolverine took a jab at the long-delayed, likely-dead-in-the-water project.
