13. Armor Wars
The MCU is littered with projects that came way too late. Scarlett Johansson should have led a Black Widow solo film long before the character died in Avengers: Endgame, it took far too long to produce a female-led project altogether, and there are a couple of projects on this list that could have done with releasing years ago.
One such is Armor Wars. Originally announced some time ago as a Don Cheadle-led, TV-based project, there have already been a ton of off-screen changes for a Rhodey-centric story that should have come a long time ago.
No one has been in the MCU longer than Colonel James Rhodes, who was originally played by Terrence Howard back in 2008's Iron Man, but is the interest there for him anymore? The character was unequivocally damaged by the Secret Invasion reveal that he was replaced by a Skrull around the time of Captain America: Civil War.
That being said, Armor Wars does bring with it a lot of fun potential, including but not limited to appearances from the likes of, most obviously, Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell), but also potentially characters like Sharon Carter, Xialing, and Riri Williams (Emily VanCamp, Meng'er Zhang, and Dominique Thorne). It's hard to get too excited by Armor Wars right now, but it could spring some surprises.
