Fans Want Colin Farrell As The New Grindelwald In Fantastic Beasts 3

Warner Bros. asked Johnny Depp to resign from his role as the evil wizard Grindelwald in the upcoming third chapter of Fantastic Beasts. The announcement shocked fans and WB will now begin the process of recasting the role with another actor.

Fans immediately took to social media and began to let their voices be heard after the news broke. As one would expect there was plenty of outrage, but others had another idea in mind for a potential recasting: give Colin Farrell the part of Grindelwald.

The actor was already involved in the first movie as the evil wizard in disguise and could be a well suited replacement. There's only one problem: Farrell is now busy in England with the cast of The Batman, another blockbuster from WB, where he'll be playing Oswald Cobblepot, aka the Penguin. A scheduling conflict would seem likely, but even then it's possible that Farrell might not even be interested in taking on the role again.

In the meantime, the release date of Fantastic Beasts 3 has now been pushed to 2022. All fans can do now is wait see who WB will choose for the role. Fortunately, WhatCulture has provided a list of 10 actors who could replace Johnny Depp (of which Farrell features).
