Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them: 8 Possible Harry Potter Cameos

4. Aunt Muriel

Born in 1890, Molly Weasley€™s aunt Muriel is another Harry Potter character who will still be in her prime during the events of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. As a child Muriel once overheard her mother and a friend discussing the events that took place at Ariana Dumbledore€™s funeral €“ Aberforth, still angry at his brother over his sister€™s death, punched Albus in the face and gave him the crooked nose that he sported for the rest of his days. She was 107 years old when she last appeared in the Harry Potter series, frequently using her age to excuse her atrocious manners. When she agreed to let French beauty Fleur Delacour wear her ancient Goblin-made tiara to marry Bill Weasley, she did it rather begrudgingly, and proceeded to insult every guest she encountered at the wedding. From calling Hermione€™s ankles too skinny to telling Ron that his long hair made him look like his sister, Muriel certainly pulls no punches, which may well have tempted Rowling into exploring her acidic character in a little more depth. It would be interesting to see Muriel in her prime and how Witches and Wizards reacted to her when she didn€™t have her old age to hide behind. That said, despite her impoliteness she clearly wasn€™t a bad Witch, allowing her house to be used as a hideout by the Order of the Phoenix during the Second Wizarding War. If the Grindelwald/Dumbledore thread is going to be followed as a sub-plot, Muriel could be a perfect way to add some fuel to the flames whilst shoe-horning a Weasley relative into the story at the same time.
