Currently there are five Fantastic Beasts in development meaning that The Secrets of Dumbledore will be the middle instalment of the franchise. JK Rowling has previously revealed that the series will span 19 years, meaning the story will culminate in 1945.

1945 is significant in the Harry Potter canon as this was the year where Albus Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald in an all out battle to claim the Elder Wand. With Grindelwald being set up as the big bad villain of the Fantastic Beast saga, it would make sense to end the series on such a famous moment from the books and films.

However, the timeline of the films also covers Tom Riddle's birth, graduation from Hogwarts and creation of his Horcruxes. It has not been hinted or revealed if Voldemort would appear in any capacity in the films however with the timeline so close to his, it would not be a surprise.
