Fast & Furious Franchise: 20 Greatest Action Sequences Ranked

3. Fast & Furious 6 - The Never-Ending Runway

It was perhaps this finale that truly announced Fast and Furious as the king of gloriously stupid action scenes.

It takes place on a ridiculously long runway as the various heroes try to bring Owen Shaw's plane down using wires fired into the wings of the plane, while many mini set-pieces are going on around and inside the aircraft.

Various calculations have concluded that this runway would have to be 18-28 miles long... and the longest runway in the world is 3.4 miles long. Hilarious.

In general, it's a brilliant, brilliant action sequence. It's visually stunning, endlessly exhilarating, the many different fights in different locations are beautifully edited together and the scene even has a nice emotional punch with the death of Gisele (Gal Gadot) - let's just hope they don't retcon that death as well.

It's a bravura and glorious finale that packs a feature film's worth of excitement into just thirteen minutes and remains one of the greatest action sequences this franchise has ever delivered.
